Departmental asset management strategy

The 2004 Lyons Review on asset management in the public sector recommended that the Government adopt a more strategic approach to the management of public sector asset stock.

In response, the Department developed an asset management strategy outlining how it plans to use the available resources in their comprehensive spending review settlement to further develop their asset base over this period.

Duty to provide information, advice and assistance: guidance for local authorities

From 1 April 2008, local authorities will have a duty to provide information, advice and assistance to parents and prospective parents of children and young people up to age 20. This guidance sets out how local authorities should fulfil this duty.

The designation of rural primary schools

This list of rural primary schools has been prepared in order for the Secretary of State to make a designation order under section 29(9A) of the SSFA 1998.
