| Description | This research looked at providing an information base on which to develop policy to support the training and professional development of the most senior leaders and managers of children's services in local authorities and to help inform Building Brighter Futures: next steps for the childrens workforce and future childrens workforce strategies. Six in-depth local area cases studies were carried out and involved interviews with the Director of Childrens Services (DCS), Assistant Directors, Childrens Trust members, the local authority Chief Executive and Lead Member for Childrens Services. Sixteen further telephone interviews with DCSs took place. | |
